Happy 4th Birthday Caleb!!!!...on March 14th :)

I can't believe another year has already gone by.  Caleb is growing up so fast and seems older every day.  Lately, he is really into playing games and will play Candy Land, Chutes and Ladders, Doodle Dice or Monopoly Junior over and over, multiple times a day--he never tires of them. He also loves anything garbage truck related.  He got a huge garbage truck and 6 little trash cans for Christmas and spends lots of time gathering little things around the house to use as trash.  Our family room usually has a large pile of assorted items that Caleb says is the "dump".  And along with that, he never misses watching the garbage truck empty the cans on our street--definitely a highlight for him every week.  He also loves playing "package man" and leaving little packages outside of our bedroom doors; loves checking the mail; loves going to the library and picking out movies and books; loves playgroup; loves being outside and riding his bike and pretending he's a fireman on a firetruck; LOVES to do anything with Evie, especially play school; loves helping me cook/bake, especially cookies; still loves sweeping and vacuuming and emptying the dishwasher; loves listening to music and singing along--he's always humming while he plays and it's pretty adorable; he's obsessed with taking selfies and videos on my camera phone and at any given time, I probably have at least 30 pics/videos of him to view.  Caleb is such a sweet boy and always says "I love you" and give hugs. When Greg and Evie leave in the morning, he always says, "I'm gonna miss you 'finity and beyond!" And he's ecstatic when it's a "no work-no school" day.  He loves being organized and knowing what to expect out of each day. I have a calendar for him that lays it all out and it's the first thing he goes to each morning.  It has check-off boxes for his homework, jobs, book time, and the 3 shows he gets to watch a day.  It says who is putting him to bed that night, if it's a bath day, if its a holiday, who gets to pick the Sunday family movie, trash days--recycle and regular, and playgroups.  I think he'll always be a calendar-type person that has a plan.  He can also accomplish almost anything with a sticker chart :).  We love Caleb so much and are so grateful that he's part of our family.  We think about and pray for his birthparents every day and hope they know how much we appreciate them. If we're lucky, through the miracle of adoption, Caleb will have a baby brother or sister by his 5th birthday--he's constantly asking "where his baby is" :)

HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY TO MY FAVORITE LITTLE BOY!
We've loved every minute we've had with you and are SO grateful to have you in our family!

This year we improved the candle-blowing experience with a chair and clothes on :)
Caleb has been talking about his birthday for a month and his only request was "blue cookies".  He LOVES helping make cookies more than anything, so that's what we did! He's gotten pretty good at the mixer--if I walk away to get an ingredient, he'll usually turn on the beaters himself and give them a whirl...which isn't always a good thing, but makes him feel very helpful and grown-up :)

Evie was at school so he got both beaters to himself and thought it was sooooo great!
And here they are--very blue and very delicious!

Fun times with his birthday balloons--running all over the house and laughing hysterically!

My adorable big boy!  Whenever I say "smile" he usually gives me this cheesy grin :)

This face looks like the "smolder" from the movie Tangled.  Mr. GQ :)

As Caleb turns 3, he has as much energy as ever!  He absolutely loves to run around in the backyard with Truman and Evie.  He kicks balls, rides his scooter and trike, pretends to mow the lawn and loves to fill up cups and bowls with water and dump them on the ground.  He is talking a ton and says "um...maybe.." before almost everything.  He also loves to contradict with the phrase "no it not".  He LOVES music and dancing around and tries to sing along with his favorite songs.  He still loves to clean--something he's had a knack for since he was really little.  He can get most things spotless with a clorox wipe--and is so proud when he gets the job done. He loves his friends Briggs and Brogan and looks forward to playgroup each week.  He's a momma's boy through and through but is happy to play at other houses as long as he knows I'm coming back.    His favorite toys are planes, cars, the train table, and his vacuum.  He has a really funny sense of humor and loves to make everyone laugh, especially his sister--who is a great audience :)  He's brought so much joy to our lives! We think about his birthparents often and are so grateful for them.

Its been awhile

Apologies to anyone who still looks at our blog.  It's been a loooooooong time since we've posted anything.  We've gotten used to texting pictures and uploading on facebook instead of doing the blog--we'll be better.   And they uploaded all out of order, so some are old and some are current :)

And going waaaaay back--Evie was baptized in Oct 2012.  So proud of her.

And Halloween 2012.  Our "nerd" and "big hunk".  We LOVE going all out making costumes.  They turned out really cool!

Halloween this year--our kids from the 50's.  We made Evie's skirt and Caleb's jacket and they both looked adorable.
